If you’ve used SodiumNodes before, and then decided to learn more about SodiumNodes, you might have come across this other company: GalaxyNodes. There’s a chance you may have never heard about it at all. In this post, we will clarify what GalaxyNodes was and how it led to the creation of SodiumNodes.
GalaxyNodes, founded around December 2024, was a free Minecraft server hosting provider founded by Maxwell and Rex, shutting down 4 months later in April 2025.
Well then, what correlation does it have with SodiumNodes? First of all, The PayPal account of GalaxyNodes was then used for SodiumNodes as it had the funds I used to launch SodiumNodes on it.
Then you might be asking: Rob, are you the reason GalaxyNodes shut down? Yes and no. GalaxyNodes was managed poorly, and the main reason for the shutdown was the result of internal conflicts inside the staff team; in other words, it was left in the hands of Sleman and I.
At that point, we both decided to found SodiumNodes, on the 8th of March, 2025, to start fresh. From there, I maintained it the most—believe me or not—through the highs and lows, and now SodiumNodes is fully stable and is in safe hands: clean, no internal conflicts, one manager, deliberate small staff team to avoid internal conflicts. In my opinion, that’s the best balance you can get when owning a business.
